Another shot of the sf sunset from treasure island. I played with the levels a bit, because the sun behind the clouds really blew out a large chunk of the picture.

Thinking about a bad move

This is a picture of the guy after the other player made a stunning move (as best I could tell from the cheering crowd.) He was lost in thought for the remainder of the game.

Old men playing chess 2

Here's another shot of the group of men playing an asian version of chess. It's better than my last shot, but the angle is distracting. I think it'd look better if I zoomed in more on the players, but I also like to see the spectators. Maybe I could crop this shot a little tighter.

Old men playing chess

I screwed this shot up. Obviously it's way overexposed and blurry. I think it would have made a great shot if it was just exposed properly (I like the blurriness a little bit, but I would have prefered much more focus on his face.) Hopefully I will learn from mistakes like these; that's why I'm posting this shot.

Grace at BART

Grace at the bart. Not a great picture, but I didn't have time to take pictures today. She should be in better focus, and it should have a shallower depth of field. Also, she's only wearing one glove which is a bit distracting. But I like it anyway.

Streak

More night shots. I still feel weird taking pictures in public, and so I feel stranger still with a tripod. So this was taken without a tripod. I like how the blurred truck top lines up with the roof of the building. It wasn't planned that way, but I got lucky. I also like how the tree is in front of the streaking truck. But I need to focus better. Autofocus sucks at night, and I don't really trust my eyes. I think I just need more experience. Or better eyes.

Grace Sleeping on the BART

I went on something of a phototrip to the city today. I got a couple good shots, but mostly I made lots of mistakes. I trusted my lcd too much and underexposed lots of pictures. I need a beanbag for when I don't have a tripod. I need to read my instruction manual more carefully. And so on...

Bay at night - second try

My co-worker let me borrow his tripod. The difference is amazing.

Adobo for dinner

Bay at night

I took some shots this morning hoping to get some sunrise pictures, but I was too early.

Plant at night

I got to play around with the apeture and shutter speed lots tonight. I'm still getting the hang of it.

Toy

Here's a sample picture.

New Camera

I just got my Canon 300d (digital rebel). I'm just playing around with it today, so I don't have anything good to post, but I love the camera so far. It was dark when I got home and rainy too, so not the best picture taking environment especially with an unfamiliar camera. But I'll post a quick shot of a toy from my house...
